East Durham Heritage Centre

Nestled in the heart of Seaham's Harbour Marina, the East Durham Heritage and Lifeboat Centre is home to a remarkable piece of local history. The historic lifeboat George Elmy, on permanent display for all to see.

 

Run by the East Durham Heritage Group, our Centre brings together photographs, documents and artefacts that tell the story of East Durham's rich maritime, industrial and social past. We're dedicated to sharing the story with everyone, locals, tourists, and school groups alike.
